Full sub-system design responsibility — from concept and simulation through serial production and lifecycle support.
Engineered Products refers to programs where Linamar takes ownership not just of manufacturing, but of design responsibility for the sub-system. Customers hand us a set of interfaces and performance targets, and we deliver a validated, production-ready sub-system.
This model is increasingly common for battery enclosures, subframes, front-end modules and structural closures — parts where system-level trade-offs (mass, stiffness, thermal, sealing, crash) are best owned by a supplier with in-house casting, forming, joining and validation capability.
Our engineering team combines vehicle-level CAE (crash, NVH, durability), manufacturing simulation (fill, solidification, forming) and materials engineering. This lets us close the loop between what the customer needs and what the process can actually produce, at target cost.
Programs typically run from concept through PPAP over 24–36 months, with formal design reviews, physical prototypes and validation gates at each stage.
